Stewart Fencing Co.

Gate Installation & Repair

A quality gate completes your fence and adds convenience, security, and style. We design, install, and repair gates of all types, from simple walk gates to automated driveway entries. Serving West Tennessee and North Mississippi.

Custom Wood Gates

Your fence is only as good as its gate. A poorly hung gate that drags, sticks, or will not latch is a daily frustration, while a well-designed gate adds convenience, security, and a polished look to your property. We build custom wood gates to match your fence and complement your property. Every gate we hang is carefully leveled, properly braced, and fitted with quality hardware so it swings or slides smoothly from day one.

Driveway & Rolling Gates

For driveway entrances, we install single swing, double swing, sliding, and cantilever gates sized to fit your opening and engineered to handle the weight and daily use. From residential driveways to commercial entrances, we design gate systems that combine function and curb appeal.

Automatic Gate Openers

Automatic gate openers are one of our most popular additions. We install electric openers from trusted brands and pair them with your choice of remote controls, wireless keypads, or smartphone apps. For commercial properties, we offer intercom systems and card-reader access control. Our team handles the full installation, from running power to programming the opener.

Gate Repair

Sagging gates, broken hinges, warped frames, and malfunctioning openers are problems we see every day. We carry common replacement parts and hardware on our trucks, so many repairs can be completed in one trip. If your gate needs more extensive work, we provide a clear estimate and schedule the job promptly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our gate installation & repair services.

How wide should a driveway gate be?
A standard residential driveway gate opening is 12 to 16 feet, which allows comfortable clearance for cars, trucks, and trailers. We measure your driveway and discuss your vehicle sizes during the consultation to recommend the best width for your situation.
Can you add an automatic opener to my existing gate?
In most cases, yes. We can retrofit electric openers onto existing swing and sliding gates as long as the gate is structurally sound and properly balanced. We will evaluate your gate during a site visit and let you know if any modifications are needed.
What happens to an automatic gate during a power outage?
All of the automatic gate openers we install include a manual release mechanism, so you can open and close the gate by hand during a power outage. Battery backup systems are also available for properties that need uninterrupted access.
Why is my gate sagging or dragging on the ground?
The most common causes are a leaning or rotted gate post, worn hinges, or a gate frame that has racked out of square. We diagnose the root cause and fix it properly rather than applying a temporary patch. Often a new post or upgraded hinge set solves the problem permanently.
Do you install pool fence gates that meet code?
Yes. Pool enclosure gates must meet specific safety requirements including self-closing hinges, self-latching hardware, and proper latch height. We install pool gates that comply with Tennessee building codes and local ordinances to keep your family safe and your property in compliance.
